Ahem, my dad is a year older than my mamma's daddy, or a year older than my Grandpa But, back on topic... When my daddy made me watch it, and I heard I had to watch 'The Phantom of the Opera' I was nine and not a fan of classical music. Now you can imagine what was going through my nine year old mind: "Great (sarcasm)! I have to watch opera (I had NO IDEA what so ever what PotO was at the time). Well, we saw the black and white scenes, I thought, great a REALLY old movie! We started to watch it, and, much to my unhappiness at the time, I liked the overture. I really thought it was going to be boring, but it was VERY entertaining! Actually, I thought Bouquet (this is really stupid) was 'the Phantom' (stupid right?) and I thought Erik really was the Angel of Music until he killed Bouquet (I was REALLY gullible. So NOTHING happened that I thought would happen. Then I became obsessed!.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Little Lotte)Mon, 16 Jun 2008 13:03:52 +0000 Question about how you envisioned it.https://bbackstageattheparisopera.runboard.com/p705,from=rss#post705https://bbackstageattheparisopera.runboard.com/p705,from=rss#post705Yeah... Well at least he's no old enough to be your grandpa! lol :eeek: Since Christine was 20, and he was 30 when she was born, he could have actually been old enough to be a fairly young father to her. nondisclosed_email@example.com (VictoriaAnne)Tue, 20 Nov 2007 05:18:54 +0000 https://bbackstageattheparisopera.runboard.com/p700,from=rss#post700https://bbackstageattheparisopera.runboard.com/p700,from=rss#post700Yes. I did however imagine Chrisitne brunette instead of blonde. I kind of made the characters mainly all up in my head, you know? I wasn't all too influensed byt he movie/musical.nondisclosed_email@example.com (VictoriaAnne)Sat, 17 Nov 2007 19:29:17 +0000 https://bbackstageattheparisopera.runboard.com/p559,from=rss#post559https://bbackstageattheparisopera.runboard.com/p559,from=rss#post559Me too, because I read it after I'd watched the movie.nondisclosed_email@example.com (OperaGhost815)Wed, 07 Nov 2007 17:37:42 +0000 Re: Question about how you envisioned it.https://bbackstageattheparisopera.runboard.com/p555,from=rss#post555https://bbackstageattheparisopera.runboard.com/p555,from=rss#post555Before the I saw the movie or read the book, I had seen pictures of the Paris Opera House. Most of them were taken outside so the way I envisioned the inside was based off of the various scenes in the movie.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Monoke)Wed, 07 Nov 2007 17:21:39 +0000 Question about how you envisioned it.https://bbackstageattheparisopera.runboard.com/p503,from=rss#post503https://bbackstageattheparisopera.runboard.com/p503,from=rss#post503For those that have read the book, did you envision the Opera House and characters as how they were portrayed in a movie or play, or did you create your own images of them/it? I guess it would depend on when you read the book.nondisclosed_email@example.com (OperaGhost815)Sun, 28 Oct 2007 20:16:18 +0000
